SPORTS CENTER BASKETBALL
GAME RULES
-
Teams will have a total of four timeouts (One full and one 30-second timeout per half). Timeouts do not carry over.

Players will foul out at 5 personal fouls
-
Bonus will be enforced after the 7th team foul in half. Double bonus enforced after 10th team foul in half.

Running clock will be enforced when a team is ahead by 20 points or more in the second half.

Remaining timeouts do not carry into overtime

Each overtime period will be 2mins

Teams will be granted one full timeout each overtime period. Timeouts will not carry over.
GAME LENGTHS
2ND-3RD GRADE
Two 16-minute halves running clock. Clock will stop on all dead balls the last two minutes of each half.
4TH-8TH GRADE
Two 12-minute halves. Clock will stop on all dead ball situations.
9TH-12TH GRADE
Two 14-minute halves. Clock will stop on all dead ball situation.
BASKETBALL SIZE
BOYS 2ND-5TH GRADE
Game will be played on a 10ft goal with 28.5 basketball.
BOYS 6TH-12TH GRADE
Game will be played on a 10ft goal with 29.5 basketball.
GIRLS 2ND-12TH GRADE
Game will be played on a 10ft goal with a 28.5 basketball.
GRADE & AGE REGULATIONS
THERE IS NO PLAYING DOWN A GRADE REGARDLESS OF AGE.​

2ND GRADE: An athlete must be in the 2nd grade or below as of October 1, 2021 and can be no older than 9 on or before August 31, 2022.
​
3RD GRADE: An athlete must be in the 3rd grade or below as of October 1, 2021 and can be no older than 10 on or before August 31, 2022.
​
4TH GRADE: An athlete must be in the 4th grade or below as of October 1, 2021 and can be no older than 11 on or before August 31, 2022.
​
5TH GRADE: An athlete must be in the 5th grade or below as of October 1, 2021 and can be no older than 12 on or before August 31, 2022.
6TH GRADE: An athlete must be in the 6th grade or below as of October 1, 2021 and can be no older than 13 on or before August 31, 2022.

7TH GRADE: An athlete must be in the 7th grade or below as of October 1, 2021 and can be no older than 14 on or before August 31, 2022.
8TH GRADE: An athlete must be in the 8th grade or below as of October 1, 2021 and can be no older than 15 on or before August 31, 2022.
9TH GRADE: An athlete must be in the 9th grade or below as of October 1, 2021 and can be no older than 16 on or before August 31, 2022.
10TH GRADE: An athlete must be in the 10th grade or below as of October 1, 2021 and can be no older than 17 on or before August 31, 2022.
11TH GRADE: An athlete must be in the 11th grade or below as of October 1, 2021 and can be no older than 18 on or before August 31, 2022.

Unsigned high school seniors (12th grade) are allowed to play 11th grade after the conclusion of their senior high school season as long as they are no older than 19 on or before August 31, 2022.
PLAYER ELIGIBILITY PROTEST PROCEDURE
The protesting head coach must file an official protest in writing and submit a $125 cash deposit per player in question. The protest must be filed before the start of time of next game for both teams.
The protesting team must provide proper documentation verifying the eligibility for all of their players before a protest can be made on another team.

Documentation should include a birth certificate for age verification and an official document from the school the player is currently enrolled in showing proper grade. Digital documentation from official school web portals are permissible.
If the protest is upheld, the proper disciplinary actions will be taken and the cash deposit shall be returned to the head coach that submitted the protest. If proper documentation cannot be provided to prove the player’s eligibility, the player will be held out of competition until proper proof can be presented. All games that the player in question competed in will be counted as forfeits.
The ruling of the protest is the sole discretion of the Sports Center staff member in charge at that time.

IF A TEAM IS CAUGHT PLAYING WITH INELIGIBLE PLAYERS, THE HEAD COACH AND TEAM WILL BE BANNED FROM ALL SPORTS CENTER EVENTS FOR AN ENTIRE CALENDAR YEAR.
